ABOUT

Amer is a distinguished business leader with 20 years of experience across Middle East, Africa, India and Europe. Amer has an outstanding track record of results in general management and leadership, to name a few- Amer has outstanding experience in launching brands in new geographies, re-launching Duracell into India and bringing it to roaring success. Amer is also General Manage VP of the Middle East business delivering business turn-around by making bold choices that have consistently delivered growth across business metrics.

Amer is also known for building strong organizations and empowering his team. Unique to Amer’s business acumen is his finance background with strong auditing and compliance experience. Prior to his experience now on the Duracell business with Berkshire, Amer spent 11 years working with Procter and Gamble across multiple geographies in Africa, Middle East and Europe as Finance Director.

On top, for the last 6 years Amer has been serving as Vice-President and Treasurer of the American Chamber in Dubai.

  • Amer has spent 11 years out of his 19-year professional career within the Finance function in Procter & Gamble, working with them across the Middle East (UAE, Lebanon), Africa (Egypt and Nigeria) and Europe (Belgium). He has held various positions including Internal Audit Manager for EMEA and Global International Trade, and Finance Manager for Pampers in Middle East & Africa. During his career, he has worked on multiple billion-dollar brands within FMCG across multiple categories including Baby Care, Fem Care, Laundry, and Dish Care, and has been part of multiple brand launches and turnaround stories across the region. 
  • Amer then moved to Berkshire Hathaway Company as part of the Duracell brand acquisition from P&G as the Finance Director for the new standalone company in the Middle East and India. He helped establish the new company and has since been promoted to the position of the Vice President & General Manager for Middle East and India.
  • Skill set: Building strong sustainable organizations, Strategy development and execution, New brand and white space launches, Financial Management and Compliance, Working across diverse geographies, cultures and organizations
  • Certifications: Amer holds a degree in Finance and Economics as well as an MBA from McMaster University in Canada.

I would like to continue to serve on board to continue driving the success we have achieved as a board over the past few years despite the tough operating environment through providing strong accessible programming and a voice to American business to highlight the current operating challenges and opportunities.
