History

AmCham Dubai, we've been your essential partner for years... you've known us historically as The American Business Council in Dubai (ABC Dubai).

Established as the first bilateral trade organization in the United Arab Emirates in 1985, we have continuously been an active member of the global network of American Chambers of Commerce since that time.

In the course of our 34 years of operations, AmCham Dubai has grown in membership and community engagement across the areas we serve. The organization has cemented a deep U.S.-U.A.E. relationship anchored on robust bilateral trade & investment, cooperation and friendship. Today, AmCham Dubai is comprised of more than 3,000 corporate and individual members, government bodies and partner stakeholders.

AmCham Dubai continues to evolve into a stronger, increasingly vital component of the U.A.E. business landscape, offering exceptional value and service to its members. With the U.S. and U.A.E. sharing a high-value trade relationship, the U.A.E. has become the US’s largest export market in the Middle East. In 2017, total trade between the two countries totaled $24.3 billion, with the U.S. exporting $20 billion to the U.A.E. The resulting $15.7 billion trade surplus for the U.S. is America’s third largest trade surplus globally.

Today, AmCham Dubai actively advocates for U.S. business with government officials from both the U.S. and U.A.E. on a local and international level. In providing a platform for knowledge-sharing exchanges, AmCham Dubai facilitates policy dialogue on all levels. We encourage all businesses and professionals with an affiliation to U.S. to join us and help shape the future of the dynamic U.S.-U.A.E. economic growth and individual commercial prosperity.
